Original Tallow & Honey Balm

Tallow has been used in cosmetics for over 5000 years due to its high compatibility with our skin. It is the most effective natural moisturiser. Tallow is full of vitamins A, B12, D, E, and K. A unique combination found only in animal-based products.

For our tallow we use the highest quality beef suet from grass-fed & finished, pasture-raised Irish beef. Sourced locally & raised traditionally on local farms using regenerative agriculture practices. This means no grains, antibiotics or hormones are given to cows but also no pesticides and synthetic fertilisers in the soil. Cows raised as nature intended.

At Ancestral Cosmetics, we clean and melt all our tallow in-house. We use only fresh suet, the purest fat from around the kidneys, sourced from Irish grass-fed, pasture-raised cows. Our full-time team hand-trims each piece to remove impurities before slowly rendering it in-house at low temperatures to preserve all the natural benefits of tallow.

This creates clean, skincare-grade tallow without the beefy smell or chemical treatments often found in industrial alternatives. This hands-on, high-integrity process ensures that every jar contains only the finest tallow, crafted specifically for skin.
