How does Tallow Soap work?
Our soap is made the traditional way, with tallow, coconut oil and olive oil.
Tallow is naturally close to the oils in our own skin, so it cleans thoroughly while keeping your skin soft and nourished.
Coconut oil creates the rich, creamy lather and olive oil makes every wash soft and mild. Simple ingredients that have been cleaning skin for thousands of years.
How does it smell?
Mountain Spring smells like spring on a crisp mountain morning.

Does tallow soap smell like beef?
No. Our tallow soap has no beefy smell at all.
All you’ll smell is the pure essential oil blend unique to each scent.
Why tallow in soap?
Because that’s how soap was always made.
For thousands of years, tallow was the heart of every soap bar, right up until about a century ago when it was replaced with cheaper oils.
Tallow is naturally close to the oils in our own skin, which is why tallow soap cleans so well while leaving skin feeling soft and nourished.
It also sets into a harder, denser bar that lasts longer and lathers richer than soaps made with vegetable oils alone.
We simply brought the original recipe back.
How will my skin feel after washing?
Clean, soft and comfortable.
Tallow soap nourishes as it cleanses, so your skin feels cared for the moment you step out of the shower, without needing to reach for a moisturiser straight away.
Can it replace the usual bodywash?
Completely, and that’s exactly how we designed it.
One bar gives you a richer, creamier lather than body wash and lasts far longer than a bottle. One honest bar on your shower shelf instead of a row of plastic bottles.
Can I use it on my face?
Yes. Our tallow soap is gentle enough for body, hands and face. One bar, head to toe.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Our soap is very gentle and made with a short list of simple, skin-loving ingredients.
However, it does contain pure essential oils.
If you have very reactive or sensitive skin, or you’re washing babies and small children, we recommend our Unscented Tallow Soap, which is made without any essential oils.
As with any new product, discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Is it suitable for the whole family?
Yes. Men, women, kids, everyone.
The scent is designed to be loved by anyone, and the bar is as happy washing little hands before dinner as it is scrubbing down after a day of hard work.
For babies and very sensitive skin, choose our super gentle Unscented Tallow Soap.
How long will one bar last?
Longer than you’re used to.
Tallow sets into a harder, denser bar than vegetable oil soaps, so with daily use one 139g bar typically lasts 4 to 6 weeks.
Keep it on a draining soap dish and let it dry between uses to stretch it even further.
Does it foam well?
It foams beautifully.
Tallow and coconut oil together create a rich, dense, creamy lather that builds in your hands. This pairing has been the gold standard of traditional soap making for generations.
Do you use perfume (fragrance) in your soap?
No. Tallow Soap is scented only with a blend of 100% pure essential oils. Our unscented bar is essential oil free.
How should I store my soap?
Keep it on a draining soap dish, out of standing water, and let it dry fully between uses.
Real soap rewards a little care: a dry bar stays hard and lasts noticeably longer.
