Take a small amount and gently melt it into your clean skin whenever your skin feels dry.
Our Original tallow & honey balm is super concentrated & without fillers so you only need a very small amount. The standard 60ml (2oz) jar will last you several months with daily use.
Some people use it twice per day while others use it once every few days. You can use this balm on any part of your body or face. It has helped our customers with dry skin, acne, eczema, rashes, psoriasis, rosacea, minor sunburns and more.

Let me start by saying I have spent hundreds of dollars this year trying to find the right moisturizer that doesn't require a whole product line to see some results.
I'm 39 and my skin has started to change. It's more dry and I really have to use a lot of moisturizer + primer to get an even application of my makeup. I have been searching for something simple that didn't leave my skin oily.
I saw Ancestral Cosmetics advertised on Instagram and I decided to give it a shot. It had good reviews, was priced fairly, and i love the idea of natural ingredients. I tried it a few times and I'm obsessed!

Delighted with this product. My daughter suffers with really bad eczema. I noticed an improvement after just one use. After 4 days of use there was a significant improvement of her skin. I have started using it on my face and dry patches. It's a fabulous product. I have already re-purchased a number of jars to make sure I always have some in stock. Photos were taken 3 days apart. I didn't take a picture before using the product so this picture was taken after first use.
This stuff is fantastic! I use it on my face and hands. since this is the unscented version, there is a slight tallow smell when first applied, but that quickly goes away. It has made my skin so soft and gotten rid of my dry patches. Even my sister noticed and asked me what I was doing differently!! She took my hand and looked at it because she said she noticed how the light was reflecting off of it. I said it’s the tallow balm!!
I was hesitant to try a new product for my face, especially at the price point this is at. I have been using this for a full month now, and have used maybe 1/6 of the jar. Seriously a tiny tiny amount (pea size) goes a long way, the moisturizing benefits are insane. Very emollient, does not leave me greasy, I live in Alaska and it is dry as heck here in the winter. This has been a game changer for me and my dry skin. Have definitely noticed a difference in the overall appearance and health of my skin, I can go without wearing foundation now which is incredible. I have noticed great glow, healthy complexion, chin/jawline acne has pretty much disappeared. I am a lifetime buyer now and definitely excited to look for body products. Love your products but ordered this originally for my 9 year old she licks her lips and nothing works ! She has sore broken lips so we thought this would help as she can take her pot into school ! And it does all cleared up and she loves the feel taste and smell of it ! I’ve been using it makes your lips so soft and it will defo be an all round staple for us now ! First of all I want to thank Mihael for the absolute best costumer service, as I firstly purchased the ‘Unscented Tallow and Honey Balm’ and didn’t work for the type of issue on my face. However he offered me their ‘Clarifying Cream’ with no extra charge, and I’m absolutely thankful for that.
I’ve attached a compilation of how my face has looked throughout these years, nothing would work for me, I’ve spent thousands and I swear nothing would work, there was always a breakout, itchiness, etc. Second compilation are photos from this week some of them on direct sunlight, I cannot put into words how different I feel and look. Still have some spots due to many years of picking my face but how quickly these spots are fading is astonishing. Thanks for this cream.
Long story short, I SEVERLEY damaged my skin barrier by overusing topical actives to the point my skin burned with anything applied. After deciding to go back to the bare minimum and only tallow as my day/night product and we have healing!!! Not perfect by any means,but better than it was 2 months ago. My girl and I love all the products. The original honey and tallow balm works wonders, quickly. She’s obsessed with that one. I’m obsessed with the tanning oil. The sun screen balm with tallow and zinc is wonderful for the face and absorbs nicely. We just ordered the new black seed oil clarifying cream and are excited to add it to our skin care regime. It took two weeks for my skin to adjust to the Tallow balm, no it didn't completely magically resolve my hormonal acne instantly but it has made it SO MUCH BETTER! This works better than my retinol without fading my freckles. It also got rid of my acne scarring faster than Retinol and made my smile lines shallower in only a month. I’ve been searching and searching for a moisturizer that keeps my face hydrated and dewy all day and this is the stuff right here. Yes, Tallow & Honey Balm is perfectly suitable for use on the face as a daily moisturiser or occasional treatment.
Will this work on eczema and acne?
While we can’t offer any guarantees, many of our customers had great results with reducing acne breakouts and soothing eczema while using our balm. Honey is a natural antibacterial and tallow is soothing on the inflammations.
What can I use tallow balm for?
Tallow & Honey Balm can be used as a general multipurpose moisturiser for both the body and face. It works great on dry skin, eczema, rashes, frostbites, minor sunburns etc. Use it to replace synthetic moisturisers, face creams, body lotions, day/night creams, and hand creams...
How to use tallow balm?
Take a small amount of balm in between the palms of your hands, warm it up and then apply it to your skin. You can also apply it directly to your skin, wait a moment until it starts to soften and then gently massage it in.
How often can I use tallow balm?
You can use the balm as often as you need to. Most people use it once or twice per day but this can vary depending on your specific skin type, climate in the area where you live, your lifestyle and other factors.
Our balm is completely natural and highly effective so little goes a long way. Some people use it twice per day or more while some people have great results using it once every other day.
Does the balm smell beefy?
We filter our tallow to make sure it’s nicely purified and there's no beefy smell left. We then add our own blend of pure essential oils for an amazing smell. Some people might be more sensitive to scent than others but most will not smell tallow at all just the goodness of pure essential oils.
What does it smell like?
The Original balm has a gentle woodsy scent coming from pure essential oils we use. The base notes are those of Frankincense and Sandalwood tied together with a small amount of Patchouli and Palmarosa and with a slight floral hint of Neroli and Rose Geranium at the top.
My tallow balm is hard. Is this normal?
Yes, Tallow & Honey Balm can be harder in structure because it’s a completely natural product without any stabilisers which means it's more affected by seasonal temperature changes. This means it will be harder during winter and softer in summer months.
Your balm will likely be harder when it arrives as it's stored in cold warehouses and delivery vehicles on the way to you. Leave it at room temperature for around 24 hours to soften up before using it.
In winter months it's recommended to warm up the balm between your palms and then apply it to the skin to allow for a smooth application. If you find it harder to scoop out with a finger you can use the back of your fingernail to scoop up a small amount of balm.
My tallow balm is soft. Is this normal?

If you live in a warm climate keep your balm away from direct sunlight. It can be safely kept at room temperature but if it's extremely hot you can store it in a cool, dry place or put it in the fridge if it's starting to melt.
Can babies and kids use Tallow & Honey Balm?
Our Tallow & Honey Balm is great for kids over 3 years of age. For babies and kids under 3, we recommend our Baby Protection Balm which is specifically formulated for sensitive baby skin & contains a small amount of gentle essential oils so it's perfect for sensitive baby's skin.
I'm allergic to bee products, should I use the balm?
Our Original Tallow & Honey Balm contains both honey and beeswax so if you have any allergies or sensitivities to these ingredients please be mindful of that.
I can’t use essential oils, what do I do?
That’s ok! We also have an Unscented version of our Tallow & Honey Balm. It's the same but without any essential oils so it's perfect for anyone with sensitivity to essential oils.
